Admah, one of Canaan's border towns, was destroyed in 1897 BCE along with Sodom, Gomorrah, Zoar and Zeboim (see Gen 19.24; cf. Jub 16.5; Jash 19.36–45, 51–52). Admah's characteristics cohere both with the biblical text and the features of the other ashen cities that were still visible in Josephus' day (Wars 4.8.4). The images which were taken in 2018 include less eroded buildings and thus refute gradualism; the so-called Lisan Formation is identified as the cities of the plain.
