In 1986, Atatürk University confirmed that the boat-shaped formation on the Urartu Mountains is indeed the remainder of Noah's Ark; the announcement was followed by the opening of a national park. Due to its far-reaching implications (e.g. disproval of gradualism, macro-evolution and by inference heliocentrism), the scientific community has spared no effort in withholding data or discrediting the find. While the need for branding it a hoax is appreciated, a dismissal of the evidence seems premature.
